July 27, 2014 - Point Grey Triathlon (Short)

1st Female OA, 4th OA

A solid (given my fitness level) and clean triathlon race: my first in just over 2 years! I LOVED it & appreciated fully the opportunity my family gave me. My real competition was the three men who finished 1-3. We juggled positions throughout the race and I finished just 6 seconds back from 3rd place.

July 13, 2014 - MEC Vancouver 5k

4th Female OA

A well organized race by MEC Vancouver on the seawall in Stanley Park; a familiar and favourite route. I felt fitter for this race after some consistent run training, but I still have a long way to go.  In any event, it's fun to race at the front again!

Still running fast at about 2k:

June 13, 2014 - BlueShore Longest Day 5k (BC Provincial Championships)

16th F40-59 (16/184), 38th Female OA (38/435)

Another physically tough race! Being out of shape makes it mentally tough too. Why bother? Because I love the pain of racing and that's a constant even when the outcome is not.

Coming into the finish (feeling tired!):

Resting post-race (feeling sick! and wondering why the other runners are flocking to the BBQ):

My biggest fan (that dress isn't a dress anymore!):

May 25, 2014 - Science Fun Run 1k

1k in 6:20 (with my family)

We really enjoyed running the 1k route around Athlete's Village (Vancouver 2010) with the other families in the race. My 4 year old amazed me with her winning attitude!

Family huddle (and cuddle) at the start:

March 15, 2014 - St. Patrick's Day 5k

9th F40-44

Farther back in the field than I like but it's a tough course when you're out of race shape.

Look for 22:47 on the clock.
